About RPG Research

We are a 100% volunteer-run non-profit 501(c) charitable research and human services organization with staff across 6 continents, based in Spokane, Washington, USA.

We have been involved with role-playing games (RPGs) and cooperative music since the 1970s, researching the effects of RPG s since 1983, and since 2004 we have been providing the world's largest free and open research repository on role-playing games, including the RPG historical museum archives. We also provide regular in-person and online community programs for ages 4 through seniors adults, including the general population and many diverse needs populations, especially at-risk populations.

We aggregate research and actively generate new research on the effects of cooperative music and all role-playing game formats: tabletop, live-action, electronic, and hybrids.

We provide social cooperative community programs worldwide, and provide extensive accessibility advocacy and training. We also use the wheelchair accessible RPG Mobile facilities to provide comfortable, safe, and environmental stimulus controlled environments for those populations that benefit from such considerations.

Building on the research, using it to train our growing network of volunteers, our community, interactive experiential RPG Museum, and online programs directly help improve the lives of people around the world. The data from these programs cycles back to further the research body of knowledge and contribute to the archives.
