Role-Playing Game Models

There are a number of RPG Models trying to explain role-playing games for academics, researchers, and practitioners. Those will be linked to from this page.

Great stories are for everyone even when only written for just one person. If you try to write with a wide general audience in mind, your story will ring false and be bland. No one will be interested. Write for one person. If it’s genuine for the one, it’s genuine for the rest.

For our RPG Training programs we start with the Hawkes-Robinson RPG Model as a practical understanding of where the boundaries of which activities are role-playing games, and which are not role-playing games, and this falls under the 4 RPG Formats to begin.
